Description
The Hifonics Brutus BRL1600.4 is a closeout four-channel Class-D amplifier for full-range speaker systems and compatible bridged applications. Hifonics publishes 300 watts RMS × 4 at 4 ohms, 450 watts RMS × 4 at 2 ohms, or 880 watts RMS × 2 bridged at 4 ohms.
The amplifier includes variable 12 dB/octave high-pass and low-pass filters from 40 Hz to 2 kHz, a 0.2–9-volt input range, a built-in VU meter, and Intelligent Power Management. Its multi-layer board, half-bridge design, and mass-loaded heat sink are intended to support efficient high-output operation.
