VAULT POWER • BATTERIES • ELECTRICAL SUPPORT

How much electrical support does the system actually need?

A motorcycle audio build, a clean daily system and a multi-amplifier high-output bass build put very different demands on the battery and charging system. Vault Power gives us battery options for those different applications.

The battery is there to support the system you want. We size it with the alternator or stator, cable, grounds, fusing, amplifier demand and expected use—not from an advertised wattage number alone.

Pick the application.

Motorcycle

Cranking, heat, vibration, accessory load, fitment, terminal access and compatibility with the bike’s charging system all matter.

Daily car audio

Battery reserve and wiring support for an amplified system that still needs to recover normally during everyday driving.

High-output car audio

Larger reserve and current capability paired with the alternator, cable and distribution required by sustained amplifier demand.

Show / powersports / accessory-heavy

Audio, lighting and other loads considered together so the battery is not being asked to cover a charging-system shortfall by itself.

Battery chemistry and charging strategy have to agree.

Sodium-ion, LiFePO4, AGM and other chemistries do not share identical voltage and charging limits. We verify the exact battery model, allowable voltage range, accepted charge current, terminal layout, dimensions, mounting and compatibility with the vehicle’s charging strategy before building around it.

A stronger battery adds reserve; it does not create alternator or stator output. If the charging system cannot replace the energy being used, more reserve only extends the time before voltage falls.

Choose the Vault battery by dimensions and current—not watts alone.

Compare the published amp-hours, case size, and charging/discharge limits before choosing a battery. These specifications are model-specific; a manufacturer wattage rating is application guidance, not a claim of continuous audio output or guaranteed voltage stability. Physical fit and charging-system compatibility still need verification.

Harley factory battery location: sodium-ion or LiFePO4?

Vault markets the NA-20 and NA-30 around compact/factory Harley battery locations. The 41Ah LI-HD41 and 28Ah LI-HD28 are different LiFePO4/BMS battery options for motorcycle starting and audio. Cranking, voltage limits, maximum input, terminal clearance and year-specific fitment determine the correct choice; do not treat these models as plug-and-play equivalents.

October 2026 supplier note: Vault Power says LI-41 is no longer offered for new dealer orders and has no immediate plans for additional lithium models. An existing SMS LI-HD41 listing may represent remaining retailer inventory, not an ongoing manufacturer supply. Confirm current stock before relying on it for a new build.

Which charger should I use?

Vault lists 5A and 25A sodium-ion chargers with alligator clips. A 25A charger can replenish compatible packs faster, but only when the exact battery permits its charging profile and output. Neither listing establishes compatibility with every sodium-ion battery or the separate LiFePO4 family. Follow the charger and battery manuals.

Will adding a battery stop amplifier cutouts or dimming lights?

Possibly, if insufficient reserve or current capability is the actual cause. Poor grounds, voltage drop, weak wiring, an undersized alternator or a charging fault may instead need correction. See our electrical diagnosis and upgrade service.

What if the product page says sold out?

Online stock reflects recorded inventory, not a guaranteed supplier arrival date. Ask SMS about the exact model, availability and installation compatibility before planning around a lead time.

New Element 11 batteries and charging

The newest Vault sodium-ion models add more choices for limited-space motorcycle and vehicle electrical upgrades. These are application ratings from the manufacturer, not guarantees of sustained amplifier output. We verify actual charging compatibility, physical fit and wiring before installation.

The electrical plan is bigger than the battery.

We look at amplifier demand, duty cycle, charging voltage, alternator or stator capability, cable size, voltage drop, fuse protection, grounds, accessory loads, battery placement and future expansion. That tells us whether the next step is wiring correction, battery support, charging-system support or a complete electrical upgrade.
