Description
The ARC Audio RS 1.0 is a matched pair of 25 mm fine-woven silk-dome tweeters designed for active sound-quality systems. The raw-driver format allows the tweeters to be integrated with an external DSP or properly designed crossover rather than limiting the system to a fixed passive network.
Each tweeter uses a cast-aluminum housing with a tuned rear acoustic chamber, a neodymium motor, and a secondary bucking magnet. The rear chamber manages the air load behind the dome and supports controlled operation near the lower end of the tweeter’s published frequency range. Integrated protective grilles are included.
The RS 1.0 is rated for 60 watts RMS, 120 watts maximum, and 92.5 dB sensitivity. Crossover frequency and slope must be selected according to system output, mounting location, and available amplifier power.

How SMS Uses the RS 1.0
The RS 1.0 is the high-frequency section of SMS ARC RS active systems. It can be paired directly with the RS 6.0 to create a reference active two-way front stage, or used above an RS 3.0 or RS 4.0 in a three-way system when the vehicle and fabrication plan support the additional driver.
Best For
- Reference active 2-way systems using RS 6.0 + RS 1.0.
- Reference active 3-way systems where a dedicated midrange has a useful acoustic location.
- DSP-controlled systems where crossover, level, delay, EQ, polarity, and phase can be set independently.
Installation and System Matching
Tweeter placement and aiming can change the result as much as the product choice itself. SMS evaluates factory sail panels, dash locations, pillars, custom pods, reflection paths, and available mounting depth before choosing the location. The RS 1.0 should not be selected or crossed by published response alone; crossover protection is set around the installation, output target, and available clean power.
