Description
The ARC Audio X2 692 is a pair of 6x9-inch two-way coaxial speakers for factory-location replacement and custom full-range systems. Each speaker combines a mica-loaded polypropylene woofer cone with an NBR rubber surround and a 20 mm wool-damped silk-dome tweeter.
An aluminum voice-coil former, copper winding, neodymium tweeter motor and integrated crossover components support dependable operation. Front and rear sealing surfaces help the speaker couple correctly to the mounting panel.

How SMS Uses the X2 692
The X2 692 is a Level 1 ARC Audio solution for vehicles that provide a factory 6x9-inch location and benefit from keeping the larger cone area. SMS uses it when a coaxial layout is the right packaging choice for a front or rear factory opening and the customer wants a stronger daily-driver upgrade without unnecessary fabrication.
6x9 or 6.5-Inch?
SMS does not automatically reduce a factory 6x9 opening to a 6.5-inch speaker. When the 6x9 fits the system goal, the larger cone area can provide useful midbass output. A 6.5-inch component or coaxial may still be the better choice when tweeter placement, available products, mounting geometry, or the complete system design favors it.

- Rear fill behind an X2 component front stage.
- Four-channel systems powered by an X2 600.4 or another correctly matched amplifier.
- DSP-assisted daily-driver systems where factory-signal correction and system integration are required.
Installation Matters
Factory 6x9 locations vary significantly in basket clearance, mounting pattern, grille clearance, window-track depth, and adapter geometry. SMS confirms the physical fit, seals the speaker correctly to the mounting surface, verifies polarity and source signal, and chooses amplification around the complete system.
