Description
The ARC Audio AS100 is a matched pair of 27 mm fine-woven silk-dome tweeters designed for active and DSP-controlled speaker systems. The raw-tweeter format allows crossover frequency, slope, equalization, delay, and level to be set around the vehicle installation rather than relying on a fixed passive network.
An N35 neodymium motor with a precision-machined top plate and secondary bucking magnet drives the silk dome. A copper shorting ring helps control inductance and non-linear distortion, while the tuned rear chamber manages dome compliance and resonance for smoother operation near the lower end of the tweeter’s range. Internal venting beneath the diaphragm assists heat dissipation during extended listening.
The AS100 has a published minimum recommended power rating of 70 watts, a maximum power rating of 185 watts, and 92 dB sensitivity. Integrated protective grilles are included.

How SMS Uses the AS100
The AS100 is the high-frequency section of the SMS Level 2 ARC Audio active-system path. It pairs naturally with the AS600 for a clean active two-way front stage. The AS250 can be added when a dedicated midrange location provides a real acoustic advantage or the client wants the required fabrication.

- AS600 + AS250 + AS100 three-way systems when placement supports the extra driver.
- DSP-controlled front stages where the tweeter can be independently protected, leveled, delayed, and equalized.
Installation and System Matching
SMS selects tweeter location and aiming around the vehicle rather than assuming the factory location is automatically best. Crossover protection is set according to placement, desired output, amplifier power, and the complete system response—not simply the published frequency range.
