Description
The ARC Audio AS250 is a matched pair of compact 2.5-inch wideband midrange speakers for active two-way and three-way systems. Its shallow 1.38-inch mounting depth and breakaway mounting tabs make it suitable for factory dash locations, A-pillars, upper doors, and custom pods where installation space is limited.
The stamped-steel chassis carries a Y35 ferrite motor and a 21 mm CCAW voice coil. A copper shorting ring helps control inductance and motor-related non-linearity. The cone combines aramid fiber, coconut fiber, and extracted pulp to balance stiffness with low moving mass across the driver’s wide operating range.
The AS250 is rated for 75 watts RMS, 150 watts maximum, and an operating range of 230 Hz–14 kHz. It is intended for active or externally crossed systems and does not include passive crossovers or grilles.

Where the AS250 Fits
The AS250 is the optional dedicated midrange in the SMS Level 2 ARC Audio path. It is most useful when the vehicle has a good dash, pillar, or upper-door location, or when custom fabrication can create a location that improves stage height, driver spacing, and crossover behavior.
It is not mandatory. The AS600 and AS100 can form a complete active two-way system when that layout is the better acoustic and fabrication choice.
Common Pairing
AS active 3-way: AS600 midbass + AS250 midrange + AS100 tweeter, with independent DSP channels and amplification selected around the required power and total channel count.
Installation Considerations
SMS evaluates the AS250 location before adding it to the system. A third driver only helps when its placement, aiming, crossover region, and path-length relationship can be managed correctly. Final setup includes crossover protection, delay, level, EQ, polarity, and phase verification.
